Torah Vodaas Primary School Raises Money For Tikva

Here is an explanation in the children’s words as to why they decided to raise money for Tikva:

‘A few months ago, Nicole came to Year 6 to talk to us about Tikva organisation in Odessa, Ukraine. She spoke to us about the children they rescue who need urgent help as they either are homeless, parent-less, or their parents have not been able to look after them. The talk inspired us very much and, as they always are in need of money and help, we decided to make a tuck shop for the rest of our school;with the profits going to Tikva. Our teacher (Mrs Ezekiel) made a committee of Six boys to organise the shop. We went to many local shops and supermarkets to get the best food for the best price, and much effort went into that.

Once we bought the food, we got together and decided on the prices. Then the whole class participated in running the sales. The shop was very successful and we managed to gain a massive profit of £250!!! We then had a fantastic assembly at which Nicole spoke to the whole of Key Stage 2 and we handed over the cheque. We hope you will benefit greatly by buying food for the children’
